    Who’s running yellow headlights?

Thought it might be cool (re: “different”) to put a set on my car. What should I expect? (I drive this car at night a lot...just sayin’)

From what I understand, in the u.s., all new cars must be sold with white. Appears legal to change over once bought. (true?)

    Can you see good?

Yellow lenses with standard bulbs will be 20-30% less bright than white... contrast will be greater, but illumination will feel inadequate. You'll need 100w bulbs to make up the difference.

I ran yellow Marchal Amplilux on my 356 but switched to standard (clear) Euro lenses with 55/65w yellow bulbs. Much improved but still not as bright as most would want.

See John Audette's LED options if you want different and usable (read: greatly improved) lighting. Currently have LEDs on our '68 Targa and they are fantastic.

As the lumen output for the yellow biodes is not the best, i decided to get one of John‘s LED sets, which I can „hot swap“ if in need for extended night drives. I equipped the lights with the connectors, so it is an easy 5min swap..

    Lights

    Ran them on my T.
Definitely decreased illumination and makes everything you look at appear in a different hue.
I was always paranoid that I would get pulled over . Sort of like the feeling when your window tint might be too dark.
