    Small sidenote to the thread...that when Shelby ordered the first run of AC cars from England, they actually shipped not to Ca. but to Pittsburgh racer/ dealer Ed Hugas. Also, I'm 99% certain a year or so earlier, a Renault Caravelle was bought by my Dad at the same place, a few miles from downtown Pgh. on West Liberty ave.

    Anyway, the first # was sold to a doctor, who in a few months disliked that he was freezing in it, rolled back in and traded on something else. From there it was shipped and raced in Europe, caught fire.. but survived.

    VERY interesting...…

    I've seen the car many times in the Meyer collection (In fact he drove it to the Malibu Kitchen car gathering 5 Sunday's ago) and I knew it's racing history... but didn't know any of it's history before it went to Europe... Thanks !!!

    Yes as additional info, Ed Hugas also sold porches on west Liberty st, It was Continental cars, My car was sold new there,I visited the site where continental cars was located it was a V.W. dealer at that time (2006),
