    FS: Early 1965 Euro 912; Irish Green, Black/Pepita, 5spd

For sale is a matching #, May of 65, painted dash 912. This European delivery car came specified with Irish Green, 5spd, Black/Pepita interior, chrome wheels, and wood steering wheel (have Kardex). The car has received a comprehensive overhaul this past year including engine reseal/top end, Solex carb rebuild, rebuilt fuel pump, new fan belt/pulley assembly, trans rebuild, brake system overhaul, suspension refresh, restored 1/65 Lemmerz wheels/tires, seats redone, etc. Very correct car with all the right details unique to true 1965 model year vehicles. One of the earliest 911s or 912s I have seen available recently that isn't a total basket case, non matching drivetrain/color, etc.

This is a unique opportunity to own a special car you don't come across every day. Tons of service records, manuals, and supporting documentation from new including Kardex. Registrations from 1969-Current with complete known history of ownership (primarily California). Notebook with 45 pages of notes documenting everything from gas to engine overhaul spanning 1984-2008. I have owned the car for 8 years and it is located in Oceanside, CA.

    Yes and no...

Yes: A wood wheel is certainly appropriate for a car like this and the seller states he has the Kardex.

No: 912 wheels were wood/ steel unlike the early 911 wood/aluminum wheels

So......if one ordered a 1965 912 with wooden steering wheel, it would be steel?

If the kardex says wood wheel then I agree it would be aluminum/wood.
