    Original Factory Torsion Bar Identification

Did a search here and Pelican about original factory torsion bar specs and identification. My recollection is the ‘69-73 cars all used 19mm front and 23mm rear, including through the ‘73 RS. Is that correct?

Over the years I’ve replaced the torsion bars in my ‘71T and ‘73E, both with factory “S” suspensions, for slightly sportier hollow t bars. I have retained the bars in the pictures below, which I believe are from my ‘71T but I’d like to catalog them. Is there any way to identify them specifically, like date codes? I don’t see any obvious part #s or date codes, other than the “L” marking on the black front and “B” marking on the red rear.

Thanks for any insights on this.
