    SWB Dash Removal

I've read conflicting information about dash removal on the SWB cars. Can the dash be removed without removing the windshield on all SWB cars, or just on the 64's and 65's?

My memory is foggy but I seem to recall we didn't need to pull the windshield on the '68 we just did.

No need to remove the screen on a '66 coupe...

Anything to unbolt other than what's in the "frunk"?

You will have to locate and remove the two nuts/washers on the dash cover studs that protrude high into the trunk under the cowl area. After that carefully pry, with appropriate plastic tools, the bottom face of the dash toward you. This is affixed with clips, some of which will probably fall onto the floor as you get the bottom loose. It will make your work much easier if you remove the steering wheel, because you will have to carefully "jiggle" (up, down, and toward you) the ends of the dash to clear the "A" pillars, as you lift and tilt upward the top front of the dash toward you now that you have cleared the edges from the A pillars. It is absolutely unnecessary to remove the windshield. Where did you get the "conflicting information" that the windshield needed to be removed?

As stated: Nothing but two screws/nuts accessible from the trunk. Center of the dash. Everything else held on with clips. Easy.
