What is the factual difference between Sekurit D89 Vs D51 marked glass? I know both existed in model year 73 based on unmolested cars.

Is it the tint level Vs clear?. The thickness. Same but just different Sekurit plant ? Doesnt the DOT # using the listing identify a supplier location though?. AS is the optical clarity AS1 being front windscreen being highest optical quality; AS2 next and generally used for other windows. The P triangle denotes genuine part from around 68. So only the D/M 89 Vs D/M 51 differs?

I know earliest RS had thinner Sekurit side glass ( documented in RS book edition two and also measured in thread here) do leavie aside that limited edition variation rabbit hole please .....but what is the actual difference between the D51 Vs D89 Sekurit when used in a series production TES? . Did D89 Vs 51 correspond to a different M option code?

I don't know world wide but for example in the UK market in MY73 only the most basic low cost 911T got clear glass and all others :T Lux and E Lux and S got tinted glass and dual heated rear screen. However I've seen both D51 and D89 here for 73 year?. Must mean something is different in glass itself or its sourcing ?

Excerpt from 73 importers genuine original spec for C16 /EG British cars showing the Lux kit: includes window spec or T Lux and E Lux.

Mods: maybe this is a question in its own right not specifically about this FS avert so move to appropriate place unless a bump helps seller.

Rick...don't understand your reposting of Richard's comment? Please elaborate if it helps the seller or answers my question. I'm not on your wavelength.

Great info. Now all this rings the bell.

Glass is from 1968 911T. Is it one year only glass ? Markings?

I've seen those similar markings as on the ine for sale plenty times so not sure yours is one year only markings. However STILL curious the D89 Vs D51 difference in OEM etch mark when they appear in same year. What are the actual differences in similar glass panes marked these different ways if used in same year? Anyone have the facts?
