6 Bolt Flywheel Washer Thick vs Thin?

I have seen conflicting information on this from reliable sources.

I think the thicker washer was used only on the '70/'71 cars with the pull type clutch. Can someone confirm this for me?

Tom, the thicker (4 mm) washer was used with push-type clutches and flywheels, for 911 engines through 69 and for 914/6 engines.
The thinner (3 mm) washer was used for 911 engines from 70-on with 6-bolt flywheels. It can be used on earlier engines too, if the later bolts are also used.

Where have you seen conflicting information? Your two links agree.

Just a little brain fade on my part......Thick for push type clutches (65-69) and thin for pull type clutches (70-77).

    Thanks for clearing this up.

Tom, from the factory Workshop Manual:

Removing and Installing Flywheel - 2.2 Liter Engine
"Make sure that machine washer has a thickness of 3 mm".
