Dave that is the case for the car on the left but I am talking about the white one with a band of color across the engine lid like what you see on the front of race cars with some sort of symbol (maybe a D) seemingly in it in a reverse image or similar

It looks like the image posted earlier could be of a 1970 lightweight prototype with 1969 door handles. Here's an auction description of the photo and one more that looks to be of the same car at the same time.

This car looks similar to the one posted here back in 2003 on Pelican

but didn't include the Porsche deck lid decal.

The decal was mandatory when traveling abroad so this is almost certainly the oval D.
Now, the country sign is on the left on the new European plates, on the left.

photos from 1967 Targa Florio. Either a driver's company car or a car belonging to another senior factory person. I am not sure what the decal(?)/ paintwork on the engine lid is about

    Hi Hugh.
Are you sure that’s is the 67’ Targa Florio which was held in May and not the 68’ ?
The license plates S-C-**** time frame sequence don’t jive for me.
Attached a photo with Huschkes 68’ sporto S. Photo taken in the Swiss alps late winter 67-68’. Note his earlier numbered plate .

The white car looks interesting. Rubber hold down on rear hatch, tape on rear bumpers and rear hatch stripe with what appears a race number.. not a German (D)… obviously factory support/rep or driver transport vehicles.

yes you are correct 1968 you can tell because the 907 #230 was the T car in 1968 (DNS in the race as a result) but no car of that number was in the 1967 event
Great shot of Von Hanstein's car as well I did not have a photo of that one

It also shows that I cannot accurately transcribe a date from my files to the board as the photos were given to me with a notation that it was 1968
