    Inside door paint color

    Hi,

Could anyone please let me know what was the original color inside the doors on 71 cars? Was it black, body color or something else?

    Thank you very much!

my door was untouched, till i touched it, which you are seeing.

    1. the inside was just primer grey, with some grey or black sound pad on top of that....very little body color overspray was inside.
and very little body color was on that steel panel with the threaded holes...
    2. one thing i noticed that was not too commonly known....they brushed in matt black the lower insides.
    3. also they brushed black on the edeges...near where the rubber seal would touch when the door was closed.
    4. I painted a little too much black on mine. on purpose...but it is not too far off from factory.
mine is the door in olive....the orange door is just an extra image

    from a 1971, non karmann.
