    Engine case identification

Got a call from a customer that found a couple engines in a dirt floor garage. Unfamiliar with a/n number location he gave me the following:
    901 101 101 3R
    901 105 111 0R

    Anybody? iD these?
    Thanks,
    Rusty

    Please look in this thread:

Essentially 901 101 101 3R indicates a 1970 or 1971 case; so a 2.2 911 or a 2.0 914/6 engine. The 911 2.0 engine have three stamped #'s while the 911 2.2 and 914/6 have two stamped #'s. The aluminum case has the serial facing the rear while the magnesium case has it facing right. On the 914/6 the numbers are near the flywheel end.
