    Ride Height Question

I have refreshed the suspension with new rubber bushings and put it all back together following the factory manual which defines for the Euro spec as 108mm for the front and 12mm for the rear(based on a spring plate angle of 36.5-37 degrees). Turns out I am way too high. No big deal for the front you can adjust the torsion bar lever screw but for the rear it is a big deal taking it all apart again. However I understand there is a U.S. spec for imported cars which ride higher because of bumper height regulations.

Can someone give me those U.S. spec numbers. I have found reference to 99mm for the front only. Anyone else have experience or speculation why I ended up so much higher than the book spec. Reading various posts I have seen mention that raising the spring plate by one degree by playing with the torsion bars splines moves it 1/2 inch.

I am using the standard 19mm/23mm torsion bars with sway bar in front only.

That one made me laugh! Yes, for that reason I couldn't pull the trailing arms to replace bushings.

I posted the same question on Pelican and received some good information. Basically, the ride height spec only changed (in the U.S.) with the intro of the bumper cars in '74.
