1971 British Motorshow at Earl's Court London

Brand new Porsche 911 coupé on the Porsche Cars Great Britain stand with the obligatory young lady draped over car as was the way things were done in that era...although she is modestly dressed compared to others. In some years some marques were not above using completely naked ladies to attract attention on press day.

Even with the young lady sitting on the wing (fender) the ride height is higher than most 911 cars are set-up up today.

Also the surface finish on the underside of the sill ( rocker) and wheel arch of this RHD model visible, albeit photo is in black and white.

Michelin X logo on tyres. Also the adhesive wheel weights visible on the Fuchs rim not done that way usually these days. No aerial in side view. An electric aerial was popular importer fit so not spoiling her comfort on left (fender) and apparantly not (yet?) on other side although would expect a Lux/S signified by the wider rubber trim would get a British made Radiomobile brand radio or right track at some point when sold after or duties.

Is that a Weltmeister sticker in the right rear vent window or something reflected or visible from another stand?

The motorshow was the around last week of October 1971 so unless I'm mistaken this is a model year 1972 in EG C16 RL ( RHD) specification. Typically the British market specification included some options above the usual German market specification added by importer PCGB due to the car price being relatively high. Not inclusive of headrests however which were an extra charge option that year even on 911S in UK. Iirc £12.50 each. No mirror to be seen on the passenger door presumably single round Durant was on driver's side. Sunroof was expensive but a popular option in the UK with aircon rarely fitted here in that era ( because of the moderating effects of Gulf stream on very highs and very low temps) even on Porsche 911 so the factory fitted electric sunroof was an ideal convenience for the climate in the UK. Rear wiper handy here too even though the annual rainfall in London is actually less than Paris, we always get a drop or two.
