See if you can keep the Hennessy temporary Plate,,,Im sure you can as they are specific to car ,, ((bit like having the window sale sheet from yester year )

The rear is the only thing I see of a 992 so Im used to it now.

My house is half-way between the two major Porsche dealers in Atlanta. I may use them against each other to get a better deal. They both have great mechanics. They both have a lack of intelligent "service sign-in people". I have had to correct them on Porsche technical issues a few times.

In Georgia, I must keep the drive-out tag until the local government sends me the official transfer receipt. It's the same plate as the older 991.1.

The rear is good to me (and not good to others). I get it.

I think the front is good with the same lines of the earlier 911:



The car is an absolutely joy to drive. The first service is now free. It is a pure Porsche 911.

I drove it to the last car Porsche Werks event in the immediate future (my third event here).

The 992 is a great car with (today) 2200 miles on it. The car is great in the north GA mountains (good grip and usable power) or going to a Werks event.

I joined PCA. My friend Bill (40+ Year PCA Member) got me in with the current PCA magazines. They are doing a great a job with it, IMO. I also get a 10% discount on Porsche service.

Every now and then I get tempted. I drive a Tesla and the newest Porsche I have ever had was an old daily driver in the late ‘90s, a 993tt I bought in 1996.

I wonder whether I should consider one of the new Turbo S’s. I’ve always been opposed to the size of these cars and electric is just so much fun (the torque not the handling). . Hmmm...

I really like my 992. It's my second water-cooled 911 car. I am not a fan of any other modern Porsche.

The roads around here were almost vacant today. The 992 performed very well. The new suspension is extraordinary in feel and handling.

And which options did you get on your car?
I'm thinking about looking at a newer (or new) 911 myself as my 914-6 and early 911 are getting tougher to drive and live with at my advanced age (65). Ha

I put together my "dream" 2020 992 online and boy do those options add up fast.

Speaking of non-early Porsches, in November I was quite sad to put my 1972 T into winter storage so I bought a 2000 996 as a winter fun car. It turned out to be great! I had a lot of fun with it, taking it to Austria on a snowboarding trip, so I’ve decided to keep it. Basically the 996 has the noise level, AC and comfort of a modern car while still feeling quite light, nimble and analog. I can highly recommend it and it’s quite affordable. I still love my early T but it’s also nice to have a “fun” car that my wife will tolerate on longer trips.

Doc...does your car have PDK?

Yes. It is very fast, and I had it on the old 2014 Porsche 911.

I got this car with less options than the previous car. Yet, the newer car is noticeably improved. You see the older Turbo fenders on the new car with the wider wheels at all corners.

The engine is 379 Hp vs. the 350 Hp. The weight is still a nimble 3382 pounds. The top speed is 182 Mph--90 Mph comes quickly and seems slow--.
