Is there experience with pistons from the 911S 2.2 in the 911S 2.4?

Bruce Anderson's book “Porsche 911 Performance Handbook” contains the following text (translated from the 1990 german version by Schrader Verlag):

“When the long-stroke 2.4-liter engines were introduced, Porsche reduced the compression on all models so that the engines got by with regular petrol. The 911S 2.2 liter was 9.8: 1 compressed, the 911S 2.4 liter was only 8.5: 1. The higher compression pistons from the short stroke 911S with a 2.2 liter engine brought a significant increase in performance in the 911S with a 2.4 liter engine. The compression ratio increases due to the longer stroke by approx. 0.55 counter over the value of the short stroke. This turns the 911S 2.4 liter into an extremely clean-running unit.

Here too, all tolerances must be checked during assembly. I have never built one of these engines myself, but I have come across difficulties with the cylinder protrusion from various sides. It also happened that the lower edge of the piston brushed against the main bearing webs in the crankcase. ”

Did anyone else do this before? If so, I would be happy about a short report.
    Best regards Andreas

Yes sir and it was fantastic.

I personally did not build the engine but was led to believe it was an easy update.

    Thank you very much, sir.
That reads well! I am curious to see if there are any other experiences.

If you do, pay attention to the bottom corners of the piston skirt against the counterweights. Stroke is longer than the 2.2, counterweight gets closer.

    Hi Edmayo,
    Thanks for the tip.
I am not a screwdriver myself, but if I commission the work, I will definitely point this out.
    Golden greetings
