    Solex Sport Kit 1

Super rare this one, it took me 12 years to find this kit, but I've since sold my Solex car, so there's not much point in hoarding it any more.

This is a factory Sport Kit 1 for Solex engined 911's. The kit complete part number is 901.100.920.00 which consisted of 4 parts:

    6x Larger 34mm Solex Chokes - 901.108.924.01

    6x Air correction jets - 616.100.900.00

    6x Bosch W265P21 Platinum spark plugs - 999.170.022.90

    2x Rain hats - 901.108.082.00

According to the manual, these give an extra 6-8PS

As you can see in the photos, I have the 6x NOS 34mm Chokes, the 6x NOS Bosch W265P21's and the covers which are pre-loved. The covers are in original paint, there are some undulations and a very small fracture (which is pictured). It's up to you if you want to restore them or leave them as is. I also have a set of new (modern made) 200 air corrector jets by a German carb supplier. According to my calculations, I don't think the jet size is correct and I think the kit needs a larger main jet, but how you jet your carbs is clearly up to you. I'll include them if you want them? The chokes were the last ones from the factory, just by chance as I had the part numbers. The bags have been opened, but show the part numbers. You're welcome to the part bags if you'd like those too.

    I'm looking for $2500

Very interesting that these kits were available. What's the document that your extract is taken from? Any idea how long these Solex kits were offered for?

It's from the factory Parts Manual in the RS section. The date on the parts manual is June 66, I bought the chokes from Porsche in around 2004 but that's all that they had left. The other part numbers showed everything as NLA. My parts guy at the time said that the part number just showed it as 'Air Duct', so I took a chance. I was so happy when these arrived.

Really interesting that Porsche supported the Solex cars in 66 even though Webers had been introduced and were being pushed as a retro fit.The next part number down seems to be a more aggressive Sport Kit (SK 2 perhaps?) with 12 - 15 hp power gain. Can you tell us what that included? Was it a free flow exhaust like the later Weber Sport Kit 2?

Yes, the 12-15PS kit contains all of the above plus muffler part number 901.111.012.01 I’m not sure, but at a guess this would be the megaphone and bracket set up?
