    Wiring Help

As you may know from my other posts, I am trying to bring a 1969 911S back to life after sitting in a rat infested shed for over 25 years. There are a lot of wires that were chewed in half and some missing whole sections. I have been able to figure out where most of them go, but there are a few I’m not sure of. As I progress further I’m sure I’ll find more, but for now I need help figuring out a couple.

1st. Right above and a little on the left of the smugglers box is a boot with 5 wires coming out. Four go to the plug for the blower motor, and one goes off somewhere else. This wire was chewed off about 3/4 of an inch from the boot and it looks like it is black with a green tracer, but there isn’t enough showing to be positive. I need help in finding out where it goes. Looks like the picture loaded sideways, but you can see the copper at about four o’clock.

2nd. The windshield washer pump looks like it uses a black and a brown wire, is this correct and can someone show a picture of where they exit the wiring harness?

3rd. In the engine bay left front corner was a rolled up harness with all but one of the terminals taped off. The one in use looks like it went to the license plate light and does not appear to be an OEM wire, (I have a fiberglass license plate panel). There is also a double grey, a single brown, and a double brown wires within a foot of each other with female blade connectors. I’m thinking something to do with reverse light switch on transmission (it has two broken grey wires coming off of it).
TIA for any guidance, Mike MName: BF454F2D-941C-4F0E-9111-F0B9767C0661.jpg

Thanks for posting the pictures Alan I really appreciate you taking the time, unfortunately I just can’t focus in enough on the boot above the smugglers box. I’m pretty sure the wires in the engine bay go to the trans reverse light switch and to the tag lights. I’ll just have to figure out how they are routed. Still need to see where and what color the wires for the washer pump exit the loom. The one wire combining out of the boot above the smugglers box that does not go to the blower motor has me completely baffled.

I’m sorry I can’t get you better photos...my car is 300 miles away.

However, I looked at a detailed wiring diagram for our ‘69 911’s and the only black wire with a green tracer is connected to the front turn signals, so maybe that’s the answer.

Here’s what you need to do next:
    1) get in there and pull that wire further out from the boot to ascertain exactly what colors it is, and
    2) get yourself a detailed wiring diagram (available online from various sources, including Prospero’s Garage).

    Good luck!

Frank, thank you so much for the great pictures they are REALLY helpful. A couple of quick questions that won’t require any uploads. First what does the blue wire with the male spade connection go to, and second what year is your diagram for? I have found several diagrams on the internet, but none of them completely match the colors of what I have.
After a week of searching the net and doing my best Jethro Bodine “Ciphern” by crawling in and out of the trunk dozens of times I think I have most of the instrument wires figured out. Still have a few black wires that I have to figure out. I have decided for ease of access, to make pigtails for the broken wires, and for those which are daisy chained together to just make my own harness. This is very time consuming as I am crimping and soldering and heat shrinking each connection, but I have way more time then money.
Interesting that for what they cost Kroon’s didn’t use the proper color code for the washer! I will pm you my email in case more photos are needed. Thanks again for your time and effort. Mike M
P.S. having the gas tank out makes working in the trunk much easier
