    911R style muffler Identification

Hey everyone, so I have been gathering all the parts to convert my daily driven 67 912 into a 911R style tribute car. I purchased this muffler from a ad online hoping that is was similar to a 911R with the pass throughs being unrestricted. Well this one seems to cross over from side to side. The weld are all heli arc and appear to be very nice. I was wondering if anyone has seen this before or know the brand? Maybe it was a home made job. I was hoping for something loud and this appears restricted.

Never seen that before, but intriguing. Would love to hear what it sounds like. Normal R exhaust is not bad around town, but gets loud over 4K.

Yeah I’ll post a video when I get it going. I’m putting together a flathead for my 32 so why it’s off. It’s a neat old
    Car. Survivor built in 1959.

Ah yes that is defiantly the one I would like to end up with at some point. If that’s yours and would part with it I’d be interested

These are still available from Dansk. You can get them from a number of sources, including TRE: https://tremotorsports.com/engine/911-rsr-muffler

    Pelican Parts: https://www.pelicanparts.com/catalog...EXHMUF_pg1.htm https://www.pelicanparts.com/More_In...=0&SVSVSI=5871

Here is mine. The scallops in the megaphone portion are to clear the lower heater hoses to my SSI's, which I shortened back to the merge collector by eliminating the "S" pipe. I did this so I could run this "muffler", or megaphones. Having run both, take it from me - there is little difference. Every now and then I get a wild hair, and think "oh, this thing wasn't so bad", and put it back on the car. It typically lasts a day or two before I remind myself of just how loud this "muffler" really is.

Not bad around town?!? My friend’s is the loudest thing I have heard not on a race track and that engine needs to be above 4,000!
I was embarrassed being in the car!

Exactly. The "muffler" part of this set-up is purely cosmetic. The "banana" can is completely hollow (and very light) and the megaphones simply pass through it. The megaphones are perforated on one side where they are inside the can, so they do vent some exhaust into the can, perhaps serving as some manner of balance tube, or crossover, or something. But make no mistake - the can is no more than a fancy mount for a pair of megaphones.
