    215/60/15 on 7" in front?

Will 215/60/15s on a 7" wheel fit without issue on the front of a stock, non-flared 72-73 911? I'm currently running 205/50/15 on 7" in front and 225/50/15s on 8" in back. Intending to do a lot of long-distance driving, I'm looking for longer legs. 215/60/15 in back will work, but I am thinking of going with these (below) in 225/60/15 and if they'll fit, 215/60/15 in front. That would mean diameters of 25.6" in back and 25.2" in front, versus 23.9" on the 225/50/15s and versus 25.4" on stock 185/70/15. Anyone run 215s in front without issues? Thanks.

I've seen 215/60 on 15x7 at the front of a narrow-body 914, which has what seems like a more restrictive fender opening, and would be curious to hear if anyone is running them on the front of a narrow-body 911.

While 215/60 front with 215x65 or 225/60 rear might get you the longest legs (if they fit), 195/65 & 215/60 would be a known qty that gains ~2 inches in overall diameter on the driven wheels (vs only another 0.6 inch with possible fitment issues). If you didn't reset your speedometer for the 205/50s, the 215/60 would also get you close to "stock" accuracy, as well. I used to run 205/55s, and moving to 185/70s noticeably improved my car's freeway legs. Tires are funny when it comes to dynamic interference clearance, as the 205/55s never touched any bodywork but the 185/70s can occasionally lightly catch an edge of my front spoiler when coming out of a driveway just so. I'd be wary of staying with 225s in the rear while increasing overall tire diameter—a 225 rear that doesn't burn the paint on your rear fenders as a 50-series tire just might as a 60-series tire depending on your ride height, fenders, etc. Of course, tire sizes vary across manufacturers—so a 225/60 might be bigger or smaller than a 215.

Looks like those Uniroyals can be had in a ton of sizes close to what you're looking for...which is more than can be said for so many tires these days. Al of the 60- and 65-series mentioned in your post and above look to be available...that's already a win.

I should have mentioned I have RS flares on the rear, and the speedo has not been recalibrated. 215/60/15s on the rear and 195/65/15 in front are option A. I just like the look of fatter rubber, and saw the Uniroyal are available in 225/60 and 215/60, so they are option B, as long as the 215/60 will fit, or, 195/65 in front, option C. Thanks for the thoughts.

I think you will have some issues with the 215/60/15s on the front. 205/60/15s should not be a problem. I'm not a fan of 7s on the front of a 911 without flares, though. Porsche runs 16 X 6 wheels on the front of 964s with 16 X 8 on the back. I have run 15 X 6 with 205/60/15 on the front of my RS flared (rear only) 911T and 15 X 8 wheels on the back with 215/60/15s with no problems. I'm currently running 50 series tires on both ends cause the car is more track focused at the moment. Same wheel combo, though.

I certainly don’t want to hijack your thread, but I actually just bought some of the Uniroyals from Tire Rack as well but got 185/65/15, as I was looking for an inexpensive option that I can throw on an extra set of 5.5” Fuchs. I will let you know how they work out, as they are definitely “outliers” in the tire community. At $59 each and an H rating, it was hard to not give them a shot!
