    Clam shell removal

Guys I need a little help on how to remove the clam shell on my 69. I have removed the two tiny screws on the sides, does it now just snap together or is there something else? I don’t want to try prying it apart unless I’m certain that’s how it comes apart. TIA, Mike M

You need to remove your steering wheel and find the 4 screws that attach the clam shell to the column.

If it's the same as my early '72, there are 4 screws under the steering wheel as well.

Thank you both. Not that pulling a wheel is a big thing, just seems more complicated than need be

Your steering wheel will come off in 30 seconds with the proper tools.
Using a hammer and a chisel will take a minute or 2 longer.

Jim, I meant the clamshell removal not the steering wheel I have a steering wheel puller, provided it’s similar to most.

    You don't need a puller.

You don't need a puller, it pulls right off.
