Porsche used tube type tyres during the longhood and even into the G series era including the then unique to Carrera RS 7 inch Fuchs (with the humps even before switching to tubeless) and the then very low 60 percent AR profile 215/60 VR 15 like my original survivor nos German made example with 12 73 dot code. This tyre is survivor for reference from Week 12 Mar. 19, 1973 Mar. 25, 1973 when the RS was being made; afaik the only car to use the CN36 in that 215/60 VR specification hence why I keep this tyre for historical reference.

Not only were these tube tyre in 12th week 73 there was a change of material rayon to steel belt at the time of change to tubeless which happened later in the mid 70s as referred to in the technical paper.

Previous discussion on a number of threads including the following:

It seems Porsche technical information was in line with the tyre manufacturer opinion of the at time regarding wheel abs tyre combination as the industry was undergoing a transition.

I hope this paper and the probaly quite rare survivor nos tyre from a very niche application is of interest to students of details.

Does anyone have the technical information group 6 no 12 of 10.10.74 as referenced to give the earlier context ? Maybe there are further pages to the one posted above too?
