Local alternative for accelerator rod bushings?

I've discovered that all 3 of my accelerator rod bushings (901.423.227.00) are MIA. Are there any easily available alternatives to the factory part? I'm not concerned about the cost, but since I don't have a local dealer ordering a set is a pain, with a wait and shipping costs. Seems like I've seen similar things before in other cars, so I suspect there may be something I can buy quicker here in town.

Arne, go the distance, get them from Sunset. They are a pretty unique split, double collar bushing.

I got to thinking, and what I think I remember seeing might have been similar parts for a 914 I restored a couple years ago.

A 914 uses a throttle cable, not a rod. Only remotely similar part I can think of are the bellcrank bushings??

i think you can just put some felt in there, in the same spots...it will probably last a lot longer, and even be quieter. thats what i did 30 yrs ago.

you can put grease on the felt too.

I think the grease is what kills the rubber parts

Use synthetic grease such as "Super Lube," not the petroleum based greases we use for metal components. Yes, the petroleum based greases attack rubber and plastic, some more than others. The photo shows 2 of the part at issue here, but early cars (through 1968 at least) use 3 of these bushings. URO does make a replacement, but this is not a recommendation for or against.

Jim, thanks for the tip on using synthetic grease
