    1967 Porsche 912 to 911 conversion

Hey everyone, so here is a little back story, I work on Classic european sports cars for a living, some pretty cool stuff, anything from a MGB to an Aston Martin db4 zagato, i love it. I am originally from New Jersey but now reside in Ventura California. I have wanted an old Porsche for a long time and ended up with a 67 912 from a crook out of Arkansas. I am always the one to say “don’t buy a car sight unseen” and what did I do buy one sight unseen. I have been driving this car everyday for the past 3 years with out any major problems that I couldn’t fix within the day. That being said it has also been in a few accidents during my ownership (Not my fault). Which is the reason why it is so many different colors. I have been fixing the gaps and cutting out rust as I go and always making sure to keep the car on the road. The little 912 engine is tired and I have always wanted a 67 911R style car so here is my chance, I bought a good used 70 2.2. from a local friend. I have gathered all original parts to make the switch with help from many here on the forum. I have been home from work the past couple days due to the shelter in place and have decided to commit and get this thing done. So far this is what I have done. Switch out all 912 gauges to 911, removed 912 engine and trans, cut out the 912 engine mounts, mounted and wired in 67 electrical panel, drilled holes and mounted oil tank. I will post photos as I go. I hope this is okay to post on the 911 forum

I have cleaned the engine up, set valve clearances, installed amber engine shroud and transferred over the oil cooler duct from the original shroud. Rebuilt the weber carbs along with all the linkage and arms. Alternator has been refurbished by AGS rebuilders in Santa Barbara. I had to cut the megaphone extension flanges off and miter the ends to allow them to fit better into the muffler. This muffler is baffled. I am anxious to know how it sounds. Nice! I did the same 912 to 911 conversion a few years ago in my garage over the course of about 2 weeks. It looks like you're working at a similar clip and should be driving your new 912/6 before you know it. Congrats, I never regretted it and I don't think you will either.

Another 912 --> 911 conversion chiming in here. Looks like you got all the good pieces to go in there and are doing a nice job!
