    "PORSCHE"-Engraved Rupert Parachute Seatbelts

I had these belts stashed but just rediscovered them... and have decided they would be perfect for my '67 S currently being reassembled.

Can anyone provide details on when these were made and offered? I'll take them apart to restore the metal myself, but who is the best source to sew new webbing?

Unfortunately it appears Bill Rich is no longer in business, which is a shame... he did a couple of sets for me in the past, and his work was exceptional.

Russ, those are pretty cool. Never seen Porsche engraved clasps. On the webbing, maybe reach out to Dave (stretch on here). Post pics of the finished set when done please.

We've had some of these before, I always remember them because my first house was on Rupert Rd. Not sure if these were dealer or straight aftermarket but they look nice in cars and are definitely a cool period accessory.

Getting the plating and polishing done first, but that's exactly where I'm sending them, John. I see Snakeoyl also restores old belts, so at least there are options.

I have a couple sets of them. The S2 was made starting in 1954 and the S3 came out in 1959. They will be stamped on the back. I’m think they are great for 356’s.

Here’s a vintage ad and one of my sets.

Rower, if only you were selling a set! Agreed, in fact I got these from a 356 guy. Just sent the refinished hardware (had to wait for chrome) to Ssnake-Oyl which will make them into 3-point belts.

I've got a set stashed away too. Saving them for 301100. Great looking belts.

Rower, my belief is that you obviously have 1 too many sets! Sell one to Russ, and Russ, you can sell yours to me. See how that works! I’m a “giver”! Seriously though, if any of you come across another set, I’d love to get my hands on one.

You can buy non Porsche engraved ones on eBay for $30 to $150; several sets on now. Different years for those that care.
