And now for something completely different...

Here is the intrepid Pac West Chapter of the R Gruppe out for another drive... Three days and two nights following the Washington Backcountry Discovery Route, an "overlanding" off-road route through our Cascade Mountains. This route has been developed by the "adventure touring" motorcycle set as a way to see our state purely from off-road routes through the wilderness. It's also suitable for appropriate four wheel drive vehicles. Pretty darn rough going through much of it, though, and not everyone made it. The full size truck, for example, was found to be out of its element and left shortly after this photo was taken - discretion proved to be the better part of valor in this case. A couple more dropped out the next day as well, but all had a good time for the sections that they were able to drive. In the end, it was the "R Gruppe modified" rigs that soldiered on through the roughest of the rough. Absolutely stunning scenery throughout. Here is the full entourage high up in the Cascades on the first day, with Mt. Rainier in the background.

Jeff, that is awesome. Perfect antithesis to the R Gruppe 911 drives. We have a 1978 CJ-5 since new and half the mileage on it is from running off road all over CO.

A little bit of everything this time.
Only two of us got up early enough to drive - the GT3 and my light ivory 72S on the end. Got pulled over by a cop (have to confess we had a “squirt” along a nice piece of road) - he just wanted to look and talk about Porsches! Name: 90E34116-8F8A-4D4B-AEB9-8EFF55C0BA1E.jpg

Nice group! My choices would be your 73 & the 911R. But I am biased! Very tasteful details in your Sports Purpose 911!
