    What happens Lock-Down.

    Hi Everyone,

With 4 weeks Lock-down in NZ & only on day 5, I’m getting around to doing those projects I put away for when I had “time on my hands” - be careful what you wish for!

Finally found an orphan upper valve cover here in the For Sale and made my key holder!

Proper gasket fitted. Nuts torqued to spec. No oil leaks so far! Next project .........

    Stay safe & stay well,

    Gary

Looks like the price of old valve covers just went up! Great usage of old parts.

    Hi 1970rsr,

The backing is timber, painted and mottled to resemble the mag cover. I drilled and tapped the hole and simply screwed the spark plugs in. Easy to remove with plug wrench at next tune up!

Some other ideas for “re-purposing” old parts:

Dead gas struts make really good cupboard handles or towel rails. And even used oil filters have their uses.

    Thumbs up

    These are BRILLENT Gary !!!

Stay creative and safe my friend....

BTW - Those hood shocks probably work MUCH better as door pulls/towel racks than what Porsche had in mind....

Haha Chuck. Sadly I think you are correct. Hate to think how many towel rails and door pulls I’d have by now if I’d thought of this sooner!
