Which Floor Throttle Handle (plastic) is Correct?

Well, the little ball-style throttle handle fell off and rolled under my clutch while driving the other day so I have to replace it. (I know I could live without it, but where's the fun in that?)

I went and looked for a replacement and there appear to be two that the vendors say are correct for the car (1970 911T):

    Name: Throttle Handle 1.jpg

Which one should I get? When did they use each type?
    Thanks,
    Jim

My early '72 (8/71) has the black ball knob. Pretty sure the other one is a later version.

I just looked at Stoddard's website for this handle and there it lists the ball-style for 1969-1971 911's and the rectangular-style for MFI cars from 1972-1974. Not that this is the last word, but it is pretty close.

Well, since my '72 MFI T has the black ball, I'd dispute that '72-74 bit.

Row cars had the ball into 73. US cars changed to the newer style 71/72?

I’ve owned a bunch of US early (all built before April) 72’s. All had the ball style. 73, I’m not sure but I’d suggest it’s the square

Since your car is a 70, it’s safe to say you need a round one.
