deck lid grille, removing bars for polishing. 1969 911 T

Removing all 13 bars for stripping out the black paint and polishing.
What about the 5 vertical support flat bars, should these also be stripped down and pilished?
I know he grille mesh it self must remain black.

    thanks,

The outside of the bars are black, thé inside is silver.
You have to mask it off.
But it looks like your grill is from 1970 or 71.
Your 1969 only had 3 flat bars.

And if you look closely. And haven't seen it yet.
Each of the long bars has a stamped number on it

Considering his location, could be that he has an early 70MY but, under their registrations would be considered '69.

Agree that the support bars were painted black for this grill.

many thanks and well noted that ‘69 has only 3 support bars.
Thanks also for the bar numbering tip, I will look closely for those.
