    Yeah, that was sad news yesterday. Especially tough since he beat lung cancer... his influence on the outlaw/underground folk/country/Americana movement can't be overstated.

    I worked with John on a project for several months in the early nineties. He was an absolute gentleman but what I'll always remember most was his wicked sense of humor. His mastery of words went well beyond his lyrics.
