Thread: Braided or rubber fuel line?

    Braided or rubber fuel line?

    Hello,

Could you tell us whether #47 and #48 fuel lines from the starting solenoid in the picture were braided or rubber ones when the 1972 911s left the factory. According to Pelican or SM websites, we can get the rubber ones, which are genuine. Im sure these lines were braided ones at that time, as #26 fuel lines on my 911S are braided ones.
Are there any clamps at each end of #47 or #48 as #26 has clamp at each side?

If you have any pictures around these lines on an original 911, we would like to see them.

    Thank you in advance.

Yes, with the special crimped hose clips. Sorry I don't have a photo handy right now.

Apologies for poor quality photo - night time here and garage lighting is very average.
Have not photographed the fuel line from cold start solenoid as the clamps have been replaced with screw type clamps (have yet to get borrow the proper crimp pliers) 1972 911S
    Hope this helps!

    Takahiro,

Sorry I'm late with this.... It's all what the others have said... braided lines and crimped clamps.

    Here's from my '2003 rebuild...

My mechanic set the spacing, cut the hoses, and did the clamping on the work bench. The stacks were eventually mounted on the throttle bodies as a unit.....

    Hope this helps,
    Chuck
