    Auto Herbst Nürnberg

    Dear all,

i had a nice advertisement find of a dealership in Nürnberg, but there is not a lot to find out about „Auto Herbst“.
Maybe it is listed in a previous or later dealership list, but it is not included in the 1966 edition.

Maybe some of you have more lists and could get a look up about it.

    in Nürnberg had been
    Krauss - thank you Doigthom
    Pillenstein
    and obviously
    Auto Herbst

thank you for helping me in this

    br from bavaria

    stay safe&healty

Prior owner of my 1967 912 purchased it new at Krauss, Nurnberg (two s, not one) on 21.6.67 and had it last serviced there on 12.1.68. According to Kardex. At least that dates one of the listed prior/post dealers.

this looks like a 356 era item
perhaps it was a service only sub agent
my Euro geography is not good - are there any other Nurnburgs - maybe a suburb - in Europe ?

    cheers

This is what I found so far...

Auto Herbst was the Porsche dealer in Nuremberg-Großgründlach, Schweinfurter Straße / Würzburger Straße. It was later taken over by Autohaus Pillenstein, dealer for Porsche & VW since the 50ies. It became the Porsche Center Fürth / Erlangen and was merged with the Porsche Center Nuremberg (formerly Krauss car central dealership) and moved to Nuremberg on the site of the former VW dealer Turnwald on Dresdner Strasse. The Porsche dealership is today at Erlanger Strasse corner Marienbergstrasse.

    @Dave @ Doug
Krauss was the major dealer for the Nürnberg region, like MAHAG for the Munich region, but, also being a subdealer fabricating advertisement articles you need to get the concession of the Stuttgart factory. So maybe in one of the lists Herbst must be listed as a subdealer.
