Shipping challenges during the COVID-19 pandemic

For your consideration and planning purposes:

Please note that currently, it appears that Postal services are not getting packages out of some countries. Some have noted that packages are waiting to come out of Europe to the US and elsewhere by Postal services (they are stuck "over there). Apparently, the overseas Postal services are relying on various airlines (Delta, United, etc, etc) for these services like they always have, and flights are down 90% due to COVID-19.

Some are not having any issues of their packages getting to foreign countries by shipping by FedEx (they have their own planes).

    Thanks, ESR
    Peter Kane

DHL are still able to freight, as Peter mentions with FedEx they also have their own fleet as well as using commercial airlines.
We at work are getting our products in from most of Europe. (ie those that have eased the lockdown level to accomodate certain industries)

There is also the phenomenon of airlines taking out seats to fly more cargo, since it's still paying.

Yeah a lot of them are carrying freight but the parcel size is governed by the cabin door dimensions. A lot of airlines are freighting necessary items, med's, PPE's etc however for bits and bobs for the average Joe they have not properly set up the delivery logistics for delivering stuff to your front door....yet.

since beginning of this week austrian postal service does not offer economy and standard shipping for overseas anymore...only express where parcel size is limited and super expensive. to some countries they do not ship at all.

german postal service is a bit more customer friendly when it comes to size and weight but prices went up...
on the upside the skies over austria are vapor trail free.
