    Gasket failure

Anyone have an explanation for this. Gasket between top of stack and air box on 69s. Looks like gasket got soft and then sucked in, however bucket to stack bolts were all tight.

Those paper gaskets shrink all by themselves. Add some cold start from spray bar and I suspect it would be worse. I would eliminate the spray bar cold start, and use only the injection pump cold start system.

Hey Chris, I’ll sell you the rights to the photo for the price of a new gasket

gled49, makes sense, perhaps one of the spray spray nozzles is skewed a little towards the edge. I know that a PO had the throttle bodies rebuilt, maybe they replaced the gasket with an inferior product. Then again, one would think that any gasket used around the fuel system would be impervious to gasoline.
