Monterey Car Week has officially been cancelled. Understandable considering what is going on.

Monterey is 4 months from now, everything should be open then (should be open now....)

    NO! you don't understand!

California ICU admissions went up 3% yesterday, up from the 1.8% growth the day before.

There will be no vaccine by best estimates, until December/January.

This is NOT "just another flu," and it will still be here in four, even six months.

Yes, some businesses must open up, but not leisure crowd gatherings.

I read that so far, only the Pebble Beach Concours had been cancelled. Of course it is quite possible, or even likely that other events will follow, but right now, I believe it is only the concours that has cancelled.

Just got this via the Corkscrew Newsletter email. As of now, the races are still on, and acceptance letters went out last week. We'll see if it holds.

Automoblia Monterey is gone. Now I be waiting until next year.

The Pebble Beach cancellation announcement gives a reason for the seemingly early cancellation decision: “Some of our overseas entrants were nearing the point of putting their cars on boats and planes, and their own travel arrangements have long been made. The same is true for many of our international cadre of judges.

Pebble Beach plans to return on 14 August 2021.

On the bright side, you can get a reasonably priced hotel room in Monterey mid-August this year.
