    Tires for 4.5" Fuchs

Hi, I am in the process of putting the original 4.5" Fuchs back on my 1967 911. I've searched extensively but couldn't find much current information about the best tire choices for 4.5" Fuchs. Does anyone have any recommendations? Do the 4.5" Fuchs require the use of a tube?
    Thanks,
    Will

The 4.5" were designed as tube-type wheels when new. You'll find people that will argue tube or not both ways. Lots of people run them tubeless these days, and true tube-type tires are pretty much non-existent.

Factory tire size was 165HR15. I like the Michelin XAS or Pirelli CA67 as nice, period performance tires. The Pirelli CN36 is probably the best performing tire available in that size, but not quite as period correct.

Pirelli CN 36 in 15-165, no tube needed.

Vredestein Sprint Classic (a lot cheaper) but not great if you are in cold weather area as they recommend not using below 40F

You don't mean already available V-speed rated XAS that are N spec?
I'm just about to order tyres, thus asking....

I went to look for the latest N-spec approvals on Porsche's site, they no longer publish it publicly. Just says to visit your Porsche Center for tire info. Nice if you have a local Porsche Center and want to pay their prices for tires. Seriously, why go through the effort to certify tires for our cars and then not share the results?

I wonder if they are also planning a new replacement for 185/70-15 XWX?

From Coker tire when I asked about 165 ...
"An N-Code tire may soon be a possibility! We are hoping to release more information soon."
