    Carpet police carpet identification

    Hi,
    My Porsche is a 911 US Karmann 11853xxx SWB A-series from 1968.
Can anyone identify the installed carpet? I've seen exactly the same kind of carpets on some other 911 Karmanns from 1968. Was it an option or typical Karmann or a typical replacement?

    Thank you and best regards

    Philipp

If that foot rest vinyl patch is part of the carpet kit then it is for sure is aftermarket.

I believe that type is referred to as "domestic pile" It is recognized by the randomness of the weave, rather than the regular rows of the earlier square weave pile. It looks like your carpet protector is a different material and probably a later accessory.
