    1965 911 Wiring Loom Repair/Replacement Question

    Hi All,

I am working on a 1965 911 Project and am looking for any and all recommendations on the best way to refurbish or replace the wiring loom on the car.

If anyone has experience with this, or has any contacts who might be able to help with the project that would be much appreciated.

    Thanks,

    Bob

Use the search function to locate an extensive demonstration of complete wiring harness replacement, posted not too many weeks ago. There are sources of new wiring harnesses for your car, such as Y n Z in California, or Kroon, overseas. You can also source individual wire stock in proper gauge and pattern configurations from such vendors if you plan to "patch."

    Hello,

Unfortunately I have to replace the wiring harness in my car after suffering from a short in the VDO RPM gauge.
The blue yellow wire that feeds the lights in the VDO gauges, fried a major part of the wire harness.

Is it possible to remove the wiring harness with the engine and gearbox mounted in the chassis?

    Best regards,

    Robert
