    Rear Seat Belts for SWB

Is it feasible to install seat belts for the rear seats in a ‘67 911? Has anyone been successful in doing it?
    Thanks,
    Will

It is easy. The belts can come from multiple sources. Just don’t drill through the brake lines or wiring loom that are under the rear seat pans.

Thanks, guys. Have you ever seen pre-threaded holes that already exist in the early cars?

Captive nuts for rear seat belts started in 1968

Damon and I welded in Schroth mounting plates with captive nuts into '065 when she was torn apart. we made a paper template for the lower holes from a junk 68 outside, then transferred the locations to the rear seat buckets. For the upper mount we welded plates into the parcel shelf. For concours I can remove all the belts as '065 never came with them, the vinyl surround on the rear cushion covers the holes (this surround not present in the later cars). Then when it's time to use them, a parcel shelf with a hole in it goes in, the upper mount of the schroth three-point goes in, the lowers get threaded in and you're off.

We also welded threaded bosses into the B-pillar for the front seats, which did not originally have a B-pillar mount, only the one on the wall of the back seat (an aluminum post that sticks out perpendicular that the old-style hooks latch to)

Yes. Seat belts will be for kids who are past car seats.

Do you want three-point or just lap belts. I'm in the same situation and am trying to figure out how to do three-point as I am already using the rear shoulder mount for the front belts.

I’d be fine with lap belts.
