    Another Mystery Part

I took this out of my Italian 73S when I restored it in the mid 80’s. Wasn’t on my build information, but was factory install. Do u know what it is for? Gordon

My Italian 73S came with a factory installed Webasto switch and partial wire loom. Never had the heater. The switch is between the steering wheel and vent controls. Maybe part of that but the piece in the photo doesn't look familiar.

ibmiked Got it. Fine wire heated windshield in the lower 6 inches of the windshield only. Part of the wiring for the window. Probably some kind of diode. I remember removing the windshield and how sano the wiring was, had to be factory. Congratulations your the winner. G

Don't think the wired windshield was available until 80, 81.

There is a Petrolicious video of a Japanese market 1972 911S targa with a factory heated windscreen.
