    Mounting Blaupunkt trim plate question

I've been gathering parts to put a Frankfurt back into my car. Need some help, as I haven't gotten my head around how it all goes together, once it all gets here.

The mounting of the radio itself using the side clips and rear support seems simple enough. It looks like it just slides in from the front and the clips snap it in place.

That part seems OK. But then I get the trim plate. I got one of those from Woody's and it fits great. Except it slides in from the side, it's too tall to simply slide on the front. Can't slide it in with the radio in place, so I don't quite get how this is supposed to work. Can someone school me?

With further searching it looks like the idea is to flex the plate top to bottom to get it on the channels and then massage it flat after it is in place.

Now I need to hunt down a pair of the ridiculously difficult to find side brackets.

It's not really a user friendly set-up . The plate has to be the perfect size to fit in the bottom groove and then barely fit under the top rail . The radio has to snap in first , your thinking is correct .

As you say the metal plate is a tight fit. I cut the vinyl a little tall so 1/16” or so goes into the channel. Rob
