    MFI fuel filter

why is the MFI fuel filter so large (& costly) compared to a CIS fuel filter?

Because the super fine machining and fit in the injection pump can’t have any contamination.

I have found that the replacement filter elements are not doing their job. I recommend adding an additional filter somewhere.

What issues are you finding? Is the filter element breaking down, etc?

That foreign material is getting thru. So it's just an expensive nothing at this point.

I added a filter between the tank and the fuel pump. Protects both fuel and MFI pump.

That's Typically what I do. I also add a small see thru filter in the engine bay between the filter console and the return line. It gives me an idea if I have a problem and is relatively safe as there is no pressure there.

Is Bosch still making these filters. I heard they were NLA, so I bought three in 1998 while they were still Bosch. What are they now?
