Sale on hold for the moment pending further research. Just want to make sure I identify it correctly.

Hi I’m interested. I’ve got a 73 targa in need of the driver side handle (not sure if there is a difference). I’m local to you in Hinsdale. Lmk. Thx, Lee

Don't want to kill your deal. That's for the earliest version ('67-'68). Later version handle is rounded over with no ribs. Value of this one is that's way under priced. They get $198.00 on the Samba. For later version try Paul Chapell. Early guys should jump on this. If you don't get any takers for this in the next 5 days, I'll take it at this price and make some money on resale at Hershey.

Almost positive that this part is through 1973, not specific to 67-68 as I have several original LWB targas and all of them have these tools.

I have a '71 Targa and it has the exact same release handle as pictured above.

Thanks Mike. I put the sale on hold so I can correctly identify this for the prospective purchaser. If it should go to an early early car (SWB), that is where I would like to see it go. Initial responder will still have the initial opportunity.

Rick, who I consider a friend, is incorrect this time.

The earlier one shows 3 components to the early handle (so 3 separate part numbers).

That's as much as I can add to the conversation....
That sounds right by me as I don't have a 73 targa. But I do have a one-owner '69, a one owner '70, and a one-owner 72 and all three have the ribbed version.

I have a '73 (03/73), which I believe to be original, with the ribbed handles. Maybe Porsche was using up old stock on mine.
