Thanks guys. I don’t leave the price up because price is relevant in regards to the time it sold and to the exact specific vehicle. Also it’s my years of hard work and my sale so I will control what information is public. Yes many viewers/consumers don’t like this but they also take advantage of posted prices to suit themselves in the future. Many people have used extremely high end sales prices to incorrectly justify their price on a lesser car, if the market goes up then people beat me up on comparison over a no longer valid price, in the future people find my old ads and call on a vehicle that is very reasonably priced because it sold 10 years ago. The fact is I get a beating from the public always, I take a beating from peanut galleries and none more grotesque than the VW crowd and this bus, the angry comments and hatred put towards me from the established VW crowd on this particular Bus was amazing and all over the price. In this case the quality was far far far far far higher than any regular VW restoration, VW guys all want to put a ceiling price of around $35k on these. In the end fighting with the public on value is a lost cause because they all think they know too much, a buyer is tuned in differently and they are the ones I connect with in the end, all they buyers of my car are always very happy after the sale. The buyer of this Bus looked at 10 different buses and found this one to be by far the highest quality one and he figures he paid double what he initially thought he would spend but he is now very happy. Not a a VW guy at all so he saw this all with a fresh perspective and bought the best he could find. The VW crowd unfortunately have ruined many of their cars with extremely low priced low quality parts that do not work and substandard work, the entire establishment culture is one of saving money and going to Home Depot for parts so quality is almost impossible to find - especially when compared to nice Porsche’s!
I will say that I love the Early S Reg, you guys have a great mindset. I do like this crowd out of all the boards I am on. People here build an excellent car that is correct or well thought out. Yes many have big budgets to work with and that helps but also there are guys like me that put a great amount of time, research and thought into how we are going to do a great restoration and if it costs too much them we stretch out the restoration time frame. We take classic car much more seriously and it shows. Cheers everyone!
Congratulations for the work involved into this Bus
