Price check: Fuchs Forged 5.5" X 15" Wheels

I am looking for some help with the value of a set of wheels that I have. Part number is 901.361.012.04. Date codes are 11/69, 11/69, 5/68 and 7/68

It is a set of four wheels, in what I would say excellent condition considering the age. I acquired the wheels in the late 80's and have had them stored indoors ever since.

What do you guys think these are worth?

No, the date stamp will be evident by digits near the center of the wheel. 767 would represent July 1967.

Did you buy the other set of wheels? Do you mind me asking how much you paid? Does it make much of a difference if the date codes are different? Are certain years worth more than others?

Not sure the going price now, but condition is obviously a big factor. Also, date matching matters to some, but not others. You may want to search here and Bring A Trailer for recent sales to get an idea of going rate. 5.5" aren't common so you shouldn't have any trouble selling them.

    Thanks for your help here.

BAT has a lot of recent sales of the Fuchs wheels. It is interesting that the 5.5" wheels are pretty rare, but yet they don't pull some of the ridiculous high values that some of the other rare models get. They seem to sell at about the same price as the 6" Fuchs, which are much easier to find. Maybe these are worth holding onto for another 5 to 10 years.

I bought the wheels in the late 80's and have had them on a 65 Karmann Ghia that has been stored for the last 30 years, so they are in excellent condition. I don't remember and don't know how to tell if they were refurbished when I bought them. I remembered that the wheels were expensive even back then so I thought that I should look into the value. I almost made the mistake of selling the car with these wheels and not getting the value out of them. Frankly, if someone had known what they were buying, they could have gotten a smoking deal on the car.

I have found that these are usually $600 to $850 depending on condition.
