That makes sense 5th week 72? I believe the Pirelli cn72 preceded the cn36. Possibly some overlap but in various Pirelli period books I had think the cn72 was listed and then later book cn36 crops up in listings. A number of my period tyre technical reference material went to a classic tyre specialist as better use there than my shelf so may not now have them. Also think cn72 specified in some period 911 road test reports around model year 71 ans 72 but would need to check references rather than rely on fallible memory

Actually memory pretty good my first post this thread shows that particular tyre on 911E on magazine feb 72 so with lead tome to deliver the press car to USA probably CN72 were put on a 911 built late calendar 71 (MY72)? Deena say anything about usa only Also the Vrieth Pirelli refence on same post (which I still have) seems to suggest the 185/80/15 cn36 in development wheras the CN82 is on market ( I think but maybe native German speakers can confirm translation of the footnotes ). The Vrieth Pirelli booklet excerpt is German — not USA. I do have a USA tech ref for 73/4 Pirelli USA for imported cars but it’s not to hand
