And for that money you get something which does not look like the original despite the grotesque price

Ed, you are right. I am just cranky about the constant issues I seem to have with $$$ reproduction parts. At $60 for two pieces of .20 cents foam I would expect them to be on the money. Look at Erics products, it can be done.

OK, finally got the stuff from MSC... it's thinner wall than expected but being silicone, no issues with heat. Left is the Stoddard repop, right is an OG piece.

The silicone looks closer to the right color (whatever that's supposed to be) and while the repop tubes are dimensionally right, original tubes are much softer.

The image of the product on MSC Direct's site is nothing like what was received. Too bad, was hoping for a good alternative.

I think the MSC tube looks pretty good , I will try it . Some trivia : the tube or hose was black on 911's built in '65 and maybe early '66 .

Go down to your local airport and find a maintenance facility. Ask them for a foot long piece of Scat 10 hose (Aircraft heater hose). Worst case is that you will have to buy a a 11 foot long piece and cut it into 1 foot long sections. You will get 11 911 heater hoses for about $10.00 each.

    Regards

    Jim
PS: Don't ask me why they come in 11 foot lengths. They just do.
