Thread: 71 911E diving right

  1. #11
Good info here. I am looking into a 70' 911T with some mods done, and it tracks a bit down the road. Feels good overall, but was on the highway and from 70-90ish MPH it was tracking a bit. Seller stated the road was a bit uneven, I'm not sure of that, but want her dialed in either way.

Had typed more but will come back later with other things I found.
Also could use a Koni front left strut.

Actually the lower shock mounting point is what changed.

Attached is a pic of the right rear shock with later trailing arm. If The only change from 71 to 72 why would the shock interfere with the upper shock tube on chassis. I have had the car checked over and measured for locating points and all is well. I think the interference is binding the shock when the suspension is weighted. Opinions and comments welcome. Would also appreciate experience with rear alignment.

Unfortunately the change also involved a change in angle of the shock tube in the cross member. Easiest fix is to get a 70-71 trailing arm.

70 - 71 trailing arms due on Friday.
I also found the front left koni strut lower part to be too worn and bent as well as threads stripped so I'm in the market for a replacement front left Koni strut.
Replacing both rear trailing arms so I can add the factory sway bar.
Any leads for the front strut is appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Rusty
