Thanks Scott, appreciate the thumbs up. I just finished the heater, used walnut shells where appropriate so the original cad wasn't damaged, glass bead where the finish needed to be removed.
A fun little project, pretty simple and I think it came out very nice... but it's going into a box.
The Webasto serial number may be on the Kardex, but it will never see use during my ownership and with a 100 liter tank? The extra 60+ lbs up front is enough.
Gonna plug the hole in the compartment with a nice rubber stopper... and contemplate potential items to smuggle.

Seats in, jewelry applied (original letters gold plated)... seatbelt hardware dispatched for new webbing. The original trunk felt cleaned up so well it looks new.
Very pleased with how the original interior came out, a result of judicious use of dye and detail effort. Things like the divot in the driver's armrest and subtle wear on the door cards and dash cap just look right.
The Emory shift knob supplied by Steve is perhaps the most subtle interior detail, close-up to follow. Thank you Mr. Shea!
All things considered it was a fairly quick restoration, just 16 months. Road test tomorrow or Friday, a few punch list items to address and it comes home.

Wow! Absolutely stunning. My car is now silver but was originally slate. If things work out, one of my goals this winter is to go back. It still shows in hidden places.

Russ I see that shift knob in there and it looks right at home. The car looks great with the original vinyl; seats are leather ya?
