    Koni strut and shock codes

    Hey all!

Got this 1970 911T and the previous owner said the struts and shocks were replaced in 2015. However, they are all very badly worn out. I am getting new parts delivered, but was curious if these numbers on the struts/shocks could tell me if these are original or not...?

The front Konis have: 15-70 and 901-341-080-10

And the rear Konis have: 4006 and 80 2088

I have old invoices/receipts showing they were done, but they sure do look like the original parts!

Either way, very happy with the car. Just very curious to find out if these are old/new/original.

    Thanks!

    They don't look new.
They look old. Older than 2015, but I can't tell if they are from birth.
The fronts are inserts, so you would have to look inside the tubes.

I have new ones and they just have a chrome sticker. No stampings.
    I have old ones too.

To me, koni, that is the best setup. For touring.
You can push them all the way down. Feel a notch. And adjust them 2.5 turns.
    My fronts are on softest.
    My rears. One turn.

If yours feel like air gaps are in them. Then get new ones.

Koni, on a bench, don't rebound like gas or kyb.
They don't spring to full extension in your hand.

Those are the original struts,,,,only the inserts get replaced.

Got it all sorted. The washer/nut that holds the insert into the strut was almost completely unscrewed. So there was a pop as the insert moved a fraction of an inch up and down. They were done in 2015. Thanks all!
