    Carpet Recommendations

I am the original owner of a 73 911E Targa and am restoring it. Would appreciate identification of the carpet and recommendations for replacements.
    Thanks.

I got my beige carpet from lakewell. And they will send you free samples. As well most everyone.

Tony at autobahn interiors. Is that a full leather interior?

The carpet you need for that interior is medium brown german velour. Autobahn has it off and on. I ordered a set for my 73S and had to wait quite a while for the next shipment. When I finally got it I was really happy with it as it matches my og carpet to a T. The binding color was way off though. I sent a sample to Color Plus and they matched the color perfectly. It is easy to dye the binding in situ. I used two coats. Your photo shows the correct binding for med brown. It looks like you have the og carpet which will make the task easier. I had to do a bit of trimming on the new and used the old panels for guidance. You photo shows highly UV faded med brown. The new stuff will make your interior really pop.

I found a photo on web that is a close match to my carpet when I purchased the car in 73. Perhaps this better image will help with locating replacement carpet.

Here's my car. And the color.
    Seems similar to yours.

The new photo you show is square weave. Which most likely wasn't your 73 carpet.
So not the same as your first photo, which is velour, pretty sure.

(But really, I can't tell for sure, but your first photo looks exactly like my brother's 73.
But his carpet is heavy faded velour. And was originally a medium/dark brown, when we found unfaded parts)
When I read Shea's post. I thought he was right on.

I got free samples here and there.
I paid for some samples from Stoddards.

I wish my carpet was thicker. but I'm pretty happy.
And the price was the best i found.

The carpet in Clyde's post is what you want for a brown leather 73 interior. Period end of story. It is the med. brown velour and looks like my new Autobahn set. You show original carpet post 1 but say in post 7 it looked that light. No way if the rest of your carpet matches post 1. Unless it was already that faded??
