    FS: NOS 911S Travel Kit

Cool 911 accessories guys and gals,

Here is a rare Travel Kit for a 911S or 911E (spark plugs are W265P21). From the fan belt we believe this kit is from around May 1968 and we can see from the cam cover gaskets (one torn, see photos) too, that they are the later, post 1967 bolt pattern covers. The gasket set box is unopened and we do not plan to open it. Please send any questions and or added information you may have. Price is $3,500 OBRO; shipping is included in U.S. Checks welcome; PayPal users please pay all fees. Thanks for looking !

Thanks for pointing out my error....Correct Eric..I made a typo..I'm fixing it now. The plugs are as you wrote..in fact see photos. No but there was a 911S in 1968. The L used 250s according to the little spec bood. Also I believe (don't you) that such a kit could be, would be, in 1969, there were was an E. However, yes, the subject '69 cars were fuel injected. I don't know if, outside the gasket box) there would be other MFI parts? and in any case, they could easily be added to the kit. Thanks.

A friend may be interested if it would be option 9138 for the 69 911S; 911E was option 9137.

    Allen/ travel kit experts

Is it normal to find this type of belt in travel kit in addition to also being part in the toolkit so a duplicate spare? The travel kit I have is for a different (later) year has an mfi belt after that system introduced ( iirc no date on mfi belt but marked in yellow print says something like don’t bend/ crimp along with part no) ....whereas the more dated Phoenix belt is in the regular toolkit.

I don’t need a second travel kit so not a buyer but since post invited questions just curious about type of belt in contents of some travel kit variations by model and year.

Interesting item not criticising just open to learn.

Hi Steve, That's a great question. Let me give you a definitive answer: yes and no The picture parts book, I have an early one, I don't believe LIST a fan belt. However, I have another travel kit, I purchased NOS from the factory in a sealed bag with the part number on it many years ago. It is for a circa 1971 Porsche and YES it has a fan belt in the kit and yes the date matches. You know or will read, that travel kit information is hard to come by and inconsistent. I'm told the kits were sometimes configured at the dealer (probably mostly in Germany where things were more often done "right") for the specific car. Thanks

    Hallo Allen,
hallo Eric,I assume not all travel kits were purchased directly with the purchase of the vehicle. Some kits were probably bought later. My S comes from April 67. Does it make sense to adapt such a kit in some parts or better get another one, because
the price would of course be pretty decent for a set that doesn't fit and would then have to be redesigned at a high price.

    Kind regards

    Travelling kit folks,

After further thought......I still think this is a 1968S travel kit. The plugs are a match from the little spec book. The gasket set, which again, I'm not going to open, is highly likely for Weber Carbs with the additional standard top end gaskets. So, the kit would also be very similar to a 1967S kit. IF a member has a '67 one please post. As has been pointed out, it is easy to change or add a item or two, like say a MFI pump belt, to make it correct for a different model. Thanks.

Would this kit also be appropriate for a 1969 E targa?

Hello I have a travel kit and it's in a blue bag and have been told it's later but it has weber gaskets.
From what I have done with the Factory the put any parts they had close to there hands. No one will
ever use this and 90% of the Judges don't know anyway. GLWS. George
